Pay Range: $94,556.80 - $94,556.80 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The EMT Lead Educator educates, trains, and professionally develop students in the Emergency Medical Technician program. The lead instructor is wholly responsible for activities directly related to scheduled instruction. This can include lecture, labs, clinical, performance and coaching assignments, as well as student assessment and testing.

Lead Educators must be well versed in the delivery of content in full accordance with National EMS Educational Standards and the State of New Jersey regulations and protocols with the end goal of properly preparing students for NREMT examinations. The EMT Lead Educator will report directly to the EMT Program Coordinator. The EMT Lead educator models the expected behaviors and engages staff with professionalism, courtesy and respect and supports the daily operations of education programs within the Training Center.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year as active NJ EMT Instructor
  • NJ EMT Instructor Certification
  • American Heart Association BLS Instructor

Preferred:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree. Must be enrolled to an accredited/approved program within 6-months of the hiring if undergraduate degree is not completed at the time of application
  • 3- 5 years of active NJ EMT instructor

Certifications and Licenses Required:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • NJ EMT Instructor Certification
  • American Heart Association BLS Instructor

Essential Functions:
  • Provide oversight to assure program content and instructional programs comply with standards and guidelines set forth in the RWJ Barnabas Health program curriculum.
  • Teaches program lessons, as defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation EMT National Standard Curriculum, and as set forth in lesson plans provided by RWJ Barnabas Health
  • Updates student Statuses, audits student course work and performs quality assurance at the end of each unit of the EMT course within their assigned EMT programs
  • Physically monitors class sessions to assure program continuity and ensuring that each student has the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills necessary to function as an EMT.
  • Attends all mandatory department workshops / meetings relating to the implementation / changes of the EMT program curriculum
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the department manager or EMT program coordinator

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full-Time, Days
  • 40 hours per week
