What is the opportunity?

As the Lead Employee Relations Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will provide expert legal and regulatory guidance to support RBC's compliance with employment regulations across multiple jurisdictions, with particular focus on the United States.

What You'll Do:
  • Working on the Employee Relations, Policy and Regulatory Compliance team, you will partner with regional Employee Relations teams and other Human Resources teams to interpret complex legislation, assess regulatory impact on RBC policies and practices, and develop comprehensive action plans to ensure adherence to applicable federal, provincial / state, and local employment regulations with sustainment mechanisms.
  • You will contribute to a robust risk and control environment through proactive compliance monitoring and continuous policy development and enhancement.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or equivalent legal qualification
  • 7+ years of professional experience in employment regulations or HR Compliance
  • Demonstrated experience advising organizations on employment regulations compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. state and federal employment regulations
  • Experience interpreting and implementing regulatory changes into organizational practices


Nice-to-have:
  • Expertise in U.S. state-level employment regulations (multi-state experience - including California and New York)
  • Familiarity with risk and control frameworks
  • Experience in the financial services or banking industry
