Position SummaryThe Lead Director, Category Manager for Baby Care is a merchandising leader within CVS Health's Women's Health portfolio, responsible for the strategy and end-to-end performance of a high-priority, $450M business with a clear, leadership-backed path to $1B ("Billion-Dollar Baby"). In this role you will own the category P&L and drive sustained growth across eight businesses - feeding, diapering, wipes, accessories, care, mom, gifting, and on-the-go - through trend-forward innovation, bold assortment strategies, and best-in-class omnichannel execution.
You will bring strong merchant instincts, proven people leadership, and the ability to identify white-space opportunities while remaining deeply connected to execution. Highly collaborative and commercially driven, you will partner across the enterprise to deliver culturally relevant assortments, compelling customer experiences, and financial results, while building and developing a high-performing team as we scale this business toward $1B.
Responsibilities Include- Own and deliver the Baby Care category P&L, driving sales, margin, and share growth across a $450M+ business with a clear path to $1B
- Set and execute a clear, forward-looking category strategy and innovation roadmap grounded in customer and market insight
- Build and evolve a differentiated, trend-right assortment by identifying white-space opportunities, emerging trends, ingredients, and brands
- Lead vendor strategy, fostering strong partnerships and negotiating to unlock joint growth and value creation
- Develop and execute integrated promotional and pricing strategies across weekly, seasonal, and annual programs
- Partner cross-functionally (Inventory, Pricing, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design, Operations, Digital) to deliver seamless omnichannel execution
- Elevate CVS.com as a destination for Baby Care through strong digital merchandising and storytelling
- Analyze performance and consumer behavior to continuously optimize assortment, pricing, and promotions
- Maintain a strong pulse on the competitive landscape and evolving consumer needs
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while building a strong pipeline of future leaders
- Champion inclusive, customer-obsessed strategies that reflect and serve a diverse customer base
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, CPG, or related business leadership roles with full P&L ownership
- Previous experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams
- Proven track record of delivering or exceeding financial targets in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of trends, ingredients, and evolving consumer behaviors
- Demonstrated ability to pivot quickly, solve problems in real time, and balance strategy with hands-on execution
- Demonstrated analytical, strategic, and storytelling skills-turning insights into action
- Proven track record of influencing others with and without authority
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and strong executive presence
- Expertise leveraging MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel up to ~20%, based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications- Passion for the Baby Care category and product trends
- 15+ years of category management and/or direct spend experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding financial objectives and P&L ownership
- Experience leveraging a strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute category and merchandising strategies that drive business growth
- 15+ years of proven track record influencing others with and without authority
- 15+ years of experience building high-performing, successful teams and developing key talent, with a demonstrated passion for bringing new leaders along and helping them realize their ability to impact the business
EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
