What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for leading business analysis activities on Strategic initiatives on medium to large size projects within RBC Wealth Management for RBC Direct Investing. The role demonstrates expert knowledge and ability and can apply the competency in new or complex situations and guides other professionals.

The role is responsible for execution of all aspects of requirements delivery- planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation, management, and support.

The role will function alongside the leads from the related project disciplines (Product/DeliveryDesign/Development/Architecture) and the Direct Investing Business strategy team for any early start & discovery work on new Strategic program level work.

What will you do?
  • Oversee large-scale program-level initiatives (i.e. strategic work)
  • Assist in determining OKR's and assorted success metrics
  • Assist in road mapping & prioritization of program activities
  • Determination of possible scope and feasibility of new work
  • Identification & Impact analysis of potential work across:
    • DI Web and Mobile application
    • Existing system architecture
    • Existing processes (operational and non-functional)
    • New processes
  • Determine and document High level requirements for
    • DI Digital
    • User experience
  • Facilitating and communication of discovery sessions with high level stakeholders
  • Coordination with Product Lead to support any RFI/RFP, SOW administrative requirements
  • Manage reviews with DI Business SMT
  • Perform requirements stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups and stakeholder requirements responsibilities
  • Lead applicable various Agile ceremonies, alongside the Product Owner
  • Manage risks, assumptions and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties
  • Provide guidance and support to build the capabilities of the junior BAs


What will you need to succeed?

Must have skills:
  • Minimum 8-10 years professional BA/BSA experience in a project-based Agile environment. Expert at requirements gathering, documentation, testing and developing high level plans
  • Proven Brokerage /Investments, Personal Finance, and Wealth Management industry knowledge/experience
  • Prior project experience in client facing web application development, preferably from a major FI
  • Proven experience in Agile methodology
  • Proven ability to gather Business and Systems requirements independently, having strong business analysis and systems analysis skills.
  • Proven experience in Requirements analysis and quality documentation: Scope Modelling, Business Process Modelling, Data Requirements, Business Rules Analysis, Non Functional Requirements, User Stories, Story Decomposition, and Story Mapping, Acceptance and Evaluation Criteria Definition
  • Excellent communication skills required; will be working with BU stakeholders and IT stakeholders; Experience facilitating a large roomful of stakeholders (15-20 or more).
  • Excellent collaboration skills, attention to detail, gap analysis, and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. Experience working on medium to large projects - over $5 million
  • Deep Knowledge of requirements documentation and modeling tools (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA/Confluence, Mural, Figma)

  • RBC BA/BSA Curriculum Certificate
  • Masters Certificate in Business Analysis
  • Prior experience in enterprise level and mobile projects
  • Past testing experience in API's using Postman
  • Knowledge of current Accessibility standards (AODA and WCAG 2.1/2.2)
  • Functional ability in VScode
