The Role:
- Create quality, accurate 3D Digital surface models of exterior and interior parts that communicate conceptual design intent using Alias or ICEMsurf.
- Develop properties from concept stage to production-ready quality for tooling release.
- Advise and suggest solutions to overcome design, engineering or GD&T issues and improve product appearance.
- Act as a mentor to other team members, helping them overcome issues and ensuring they consider all requirements for their parts.
- Attend meetings and reviews to understand and help solve issues and to ensure the program moves in a timely fashion.
- Maintain assembly files and ensure they are organized and labelled correctly for reviews.
- Be an excellent communicator! Our ability to maintain a close synergy between design, modeling, Aero, Engineering and Project Management is one of the things that makes Lucid different.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of surfacing experience with ALIAS or ICEMsurf in a top-tier automotive environment.
- An Expert level, detail-oriented, surface modeler with an innate understanding of highlighting, curvature analysis, dimensional variation and the effect of material selection on the A-Surface.
- Thorough understanding of tooling design, sheet metal stamping, human factors, safety requirements, gaps and flushness.
- Solid grasp of 3DX, is beneficial.
- A highly organized and positive attitude with a strong desire to help Lucid meet the highest standards.
- Degree or foreign equivalent in Automotive Design or Engineering preferred.
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$159,800-$234,410 USD
Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
