Lead DevOps Engineer (Salesforce) - Copado Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong Copado experience to join our Salesforce delivery team. This role will drive continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, optimize release processes, and ensure high - quality, scalable, and secure deployments across our Salesforce environments. The ideal candidate blends DevOps thought leadership with best practices. Must have hands - on Copado expertise and a deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Expert level Copado skills with automation, CI/CD experience, knowledge of both Meta data-based pipelines and source format base deployments.
Must own and manage the Salesforce release pipeline using Copado, including configuration, deployment orchestration, version control, and automated quality checks.
Design, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support multi-org Salesforce development.
Configure and manage Copado features such as user stories, environment branches, automated deployments, quality gates, and back promotions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams-Admins, Developers, QA, Architecture-to streamline release processes and reduce deployment friction.
Implement automation for testing, code validation, and metadata deployment.
Ensure compliance, security, and auditability of release operations.
Troubleshoot deployment issues, reconcile metadata conflicts, and support hotfix processes.
Maintain documentation for release processes, environment strategy, and DevOps standards.
Recommend improvements based on emerging DevOps and Salesforce DevOps trends.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer and CI/CD Principles
Expert level in Salesforce DevOps or Release Management.
Expert level experience with branching strategies
3+ years of hands-on experience with Copado (configuration, pipelines, version control integration, metadata deployment, and automation).
Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata, packaging, environment management, and development lifecycle.
Experience with Git-based workflows (feature branches, merges, pull requests).
Familiarity with automated testing tools (Apex tests, Selenium, Provar, or similar).
