Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to spearhead our data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in technology delivery, program management, and technical project leadership, with a strong focus on cloud-based data and analytics solutions. This role requires a hands-on approach to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a proven track record of leading large-scale data platform initiatives from inception to completion.
Responsibilities:- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale data platform initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across various stages of data ingestion, transformation, storage, analytics, and reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Data Governance, and Business stakeholders, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement best practices for data engineering processes, ensuring high-quality data solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Oversee the design and architecture of data pipelines and data models, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project transparency and alignment.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data engineering team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Mandatory Skills:- Proven expertise in data analytics, with a strong understanding of data visualization and reporting tools.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services.
- Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Skills:- Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their application in data engineering.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud technologies, or project management are a plus.
