Work You'll Do

As a Lead Data Engineer on the AI & Data team, you will be responsible for leading large-scale data and artificial intelligence programs that help clients modernize platforms, improve decision-making, and deliver measurable business outcomes using the Databricks platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex data and artificial intelligence programs across the Databricks platform, serving as a subject matter advisor to delivery teams.
  • Build and maintain client relationships while advising stakeholders on enterprise data and artificial intelligence strategy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams of data engineers, data scientists, and architects across client engagements.
  • Design data-driven architectures that integrate data engineering, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.
  • Provide delivery oversight, define success criteria, and guide teams on data governance, security, and machine learning operations practices.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • 7+ years of experience leading complex, large-scale data engineering, data governance, or artificial intelligence initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience configuring Unity Catalog role-based access control (RBAC) using Microsoft Entra ID groups and Icertis User Provisioning with System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)
  • 1+ years of experience registering data assets in Collibra Data Catalog and applying personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) classification tags
  • 1+ years of experience aligning data access controls to an established attribute-based access control (ABAC) masking pattern and developing solutions using Python
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred:
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, including experience with executive-level communication.
  • Professional Databricks certifications are preferred.
  • Public sector experience preferred
  • Active public sector clearance preferred
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,600 to $241,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
