Job DescriptionThe Independent Risk Review and Assessment (IRRA) organization in Risk Management & Compliance (RM&C) serves as U.S. Bank's independent second line of defense, providing objective assessments of the effectiveness of the Bank's Risk Management framework across credit, compliance, and operational risks.
The Independent Assessment and Modernization team within the IRRA Program Office is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to lead complex modernization, Microsoft Power Platform, and technology enablement initiatives in support of IRRA Reviews. This role serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for translating review needs into scalable Power Platform-enabled solutions, automation, and analytics capabilities, and for ensuring that AI-enabled and automated approaches meet IRRA standards for independence, quality, and defensibility. The individual will also serve as an informal technical resource for colleagues, helping troubleshoot Power Platform and related technical questions and supporting learning across the team. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is accountable for the quality, reliability, and effectiveness of modernization deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design and implementation of technology-enabled solutions, with emphasis on Microsoft Power Platform applications, workflows, dashboards, and automation capabilities that support IRRA review planning, execution, testing, and documentation.
- Design and execute advanced analytical, automation, or AI-enabled approaches aligned to IRRA review objectives and governance standards.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on Microsoft Power Platform, modernization tools, platforms, and methodologies relevant to IRRA Reviews, including providing informal guidance and knowledge-sharing to colleagues.
- Partner closely with Review teams to translate review requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Develop, enhance, and support Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Power BI reporting, and related low-code solutions that improve review efficiency, consistency, and traceability.
- Assist colleagues with technical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and practical Power Platform learning as needs arise.
- Contributes to the development of IRRA's AI usage standards, controls, and documentation practices.
- Identify recurring modernization needs and contribute to reusable tools, templates, and frameworks.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to Data Analysts and colleagues supporting modernization initiatives, including sharing practical Power Platform knowledge and leading by example.
- Proactively identify technology risks, limitations, and dependencies, and escalate appropriately.
- Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing work based on evolving organizational goals and risk priorities with limited direction.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to modernization governance, standardization, and efficiency across IRRA.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than eight years of applicable experience

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and related governance or support practicesPreferred Skills/Experience
- Strong experience designing or implementing analytics, automation, or technology solutions in complex environments.
- Experience building or supporting Power Platform solutions in enterprise environments, including requirements intake, solution design, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing enhancement.
- Significant hands-on experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation and reporting solutions in Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Strong executive-level presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong consulting skills and ability to effectively engage with different levels of stakeholders
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, process facilitation, and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Proven ability to prioritize work based on changing organizational goals and strategy and work independently with minimal guidance
- Understanding of governance, risk management, and internal control concepts
- Knowledge of risk/compliance/audit practices
- Experience with data, analytics, or automation tools such as SQL, Python, workflow or visualization tools preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Ability to support peer learning, explain technical concepts clearly, and serve as an approachable resource for Power Platform questions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of financial services risk, compliance, or audit processes.
