Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct field experience in heavy civil tunnel projects; 20+ years preferred.
• Experience with a heavy civil contractor specializing in underground projects is desirable.
• Familiarity with cost estimating and pricing.
• Knowledge of construction claims and change order pricing.
• Accredited degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration or ability to obtain one within the first year.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with relevant software.
• Experience in specification writing and review.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating efforts for complex civil, structural, and tunnel projects.
• Manage a team of project cost estimators.
• Perform comprehensive cost estimating, including conceptual estimates and production-based methods.
• Conduct field visits to observe construction methods and update estimating database accordingly.
• Collaborate on risk assessments to identify estimating uncertainties and project risks.
• Evaluate design drawings for constructability issues and cost-related concerns.
• Provide quality assurance review on estimating work completed by others.
