As a Lead Compositor, you will lead by example, setting the standard for high-quality composite shots in feature film or episodic shows. Your expertise in Nuke and feature film production will ensure continuity and consistency across sequences.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Production and other Creative teams to achieve the goals of the project
Establish sequence looks for key visual effects shots
Solve high-level show technical and creative challenges
Recognize knowledge gaps and actively collaborate with the team to find solutions.
Build and maintain templates to support other artists
Collaborate with other compositors to share knowledge and techniques
On-the-box compositing of complex shots (live action sourced and/or full CG)
Ensure continuity and consistency across sequences and shots
Utilize and share core knowledge of 2D image manipulation processes such as tracking, color correction, depth of field, retiming, warping, and photographic optical effects to achieve photorealistic composites
Qualifications
6+ years live-action feature film or episodic compositing experience
Advanced Nuke skills and knowledge of compositing workflows
Advanced understanding of 3D computer graphics, including modeling, lighting, and animation
Excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills
Experience using Shotgrid/Flow or other VFX Production tracking software
Ability to engage in positive collaboration and communicate effectively
Traditional art, photography, and film background (preferred)
Python, Blinkscript, or C++ experience (preferred)
Nuke particle experience (preferred)
OCIO/ACES Color Config and management experience (preferred)
360 VR or Array Compositing experience (preferred)
100 000-150 000$ CAD a year
