Job Description Summary
Responsible for leading the development of the Business Intelligence and Analytics products and platforms, including but not limited to data warehouse, data visualizations and interactive reports from a technical perspective. Applies Business Intelligence and Analytics subject matter expertise (data modeling, data discovery, BI product offering development and conceptual insurance acumen) to provide the business support departments with the tools and data representations which allow increasing organizational profit and meeting strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of database or data presentation solutions to deliver information to end-users accurately and efficiently.
  • Architect BI solutions using MSBI stack and/or Tableau.
  • Analyze, understand and document user needs to ensure accurate fulfillment of user story request for internal business customers.
  • Continuously develop and maintain an understanding of Business Intelligence technology and architecture, including data warehousing, dimensional modeling, OLAP functionality, reporting tools and other methods of information delivery.
  • Extract, transform and load data using data management tools and T-SQL.
  • Contribute to and lead project teams that are developing or modifying highly complex information solutions.
  • Continuously develop expertise in the data and data models within the data warehouse, as well as an understanding of supported business domains.
  • Administer and maintain the BI Portal, data warehouse and existing BI solutions.
  • May construct data models, data dictionaries and report glossaries.
  • May conduct user interview and training sessions.
  • Mentor team members in BI tools and methods.
  • Conduct and may facilitate internal testing and user acceptance testing.

  • Seven years of experience in business intelligence or data management.
  • Strong understanding of BI concepts and tools.
  • Experience leading a full lifecycle BI project team from a technical leadership perspective.
  • Experience with Microsoft BI stack.
  • Experience with Tableau or other visualization tool.
  • Significant experience developing physical dimensional models or data visualizations.
  • Significant experience in data modeling, data discovery and the application of data to resolve business problems.
  • Problem-solving ability and a willingness to think "outside-the-box".


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating in highly visible reporting environments supporting sales organizations or executive leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and standardize reporting across multiple, disparate data sources or systems
  • Experience supporting or contributing to BI tool migrations or platform transitions
  • Strong track record of improving reporting efficiency, delivery speed, or process optimization within BI teams
  • Experience working in environments with evolving data models and limited documentation, requiring independent discovery and validation
  • Proven ability to establish or enhance reporting governance practices, including consistency in definitions and outputs
  • Experience participating in or supporting user training, adoption, or enablement of reporting tools and dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to balance business priorities with technical constraints in reporting solution design


Working Conditions
  • Hybrid - Office Environment (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)
  • Less than 10% travel

Compensation

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $111,000 - $140,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Philadelphia, PA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Denver, CO). Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
