The Lead Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Application Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
The Lead Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
- 8 or more experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
- Lead the architecture design, governance, and strategic direction of the Specialty Integration Hub, ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions.
- Define, establish, and enforce integration architecture standards, design principles, and best practices across application and delivery teams.
- Partner closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate business objectives into effective technology solutions and delivery roadmaps.
- Drive enterprise API, data integration, and cloud architecture strategies to support modernization, interoperability, and future growth initiatives.
- Provide architectural leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, including design reviews, technology evaluations, risk assessments, and governance oversight.
- Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering architectural excellence, innovation, and adherence to engineering best practices across the organization.
- Work with other architects to align on key deliverables and timelines.

Required Technical Skills- Cloud Architecture & Azure Ecosystem: Extensive experience designing scalable, secure enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure, utilizing core services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services and Azure Functions
- Data Engineering & Analytics Stack: Proven expertise architecting big data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake, Azure Databricks (Apache Spark, PySpark), and Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest, transform, and store large-scale datasets.
- API Development & Management: Strong background in designing robust, secure API layers using Azure API Management (APIM), implementing modern protocols (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC),
- SaaS Integration & Messaging: Deep understanding of integrating third-party SaaS products using enterprise event-driven architectures built on Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus, or Kafka.
- Experience implementing modern DevOps practices
- Own end-to-end application architecture for Specialty, translating business outcomes into composable designs across systems of experience, operations, and insight.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$129,300 - $177,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
