The Lead Application Architect works across enterprise application, integration, and healthcare technology environments, including solution architecture, application design, interoperability, API strategy, and enterprise platform integration. The Lead Application Architect is responsible for developing enterprise solution and integration architecture blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Translates business needs into long-term application and solution architecture strategies. Designs scalable integration frameworks, interoperability solutions, and enterprise application architectures that support clinical and operational workflows. Evaluates current platforms and technologies for reuse across multiple business capabilities. Reviews application, integration, and system models to ensure efficient management, scalability, security, and accessibility. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Responsibilities:- Define and drive enterprise architecture, application integration, interoperability, and technology strategy across Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and related cloud services.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available application, integration, and interoperability solutions.
- Establish architecture standards, reference patterns, and best practices for system integrations, API management, interoperability, security, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Partner with engineering, product, business, governance, security, and clinical application teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for API, event-driven, and real-time integration architectures, including healthcare interoperability solutions utilizing HL7, FHIR, and Epic integration frameworks.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities, recommending solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Mentor engineering teams and provide architectural oversight across strategic initiatives and platform investments.
- Drive architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, compliance, security, and governance standards.
- Lead architecture efforts supporting clinical workflows, interoperability, and enterprise integration initiatives.

- Experience designing and implementing enterprise APIs, application integrations, and interoperability solutions.
- Experience with healthcare integration standards such as HL7, FHIR, Web Services, and REST APIs.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- 8+ years of experience in solution, application, or enterprise architecture roles.
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, Databricks, Snowflake, and modern data platform architectures.
- Strong experience with API-based, event-driven, and distributed system architectures.
- Experience designing secure solutions, including identity management, access controls, key vault/secrets management, and data protection strategies.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML and Generative AI architectures and their integration into enterprise platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
- Experience supporting, integrating, or architecting solutions within Clinical platforms.
- Experience partnering with clinical, operational, and business stakeholders to deliver healthcare technology solutions.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree.
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, and/or AWS.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional architecture initiatives and drive technology strategy.
- Experience with Epic applications and ecosystem components, including Epic Clarity and Caboodle databases.
- Knowledge of interoperability tools and healthcare integration technologies.
- Experience supporting clinical application architecture, patient data workflows, and enterprise healthcare platforms.
- Epic certification(s) or demonstrated experience leading Epic-related architecture and integration initiatives.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$129,300 - $177,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
