Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Lead Analyst - Engineering Finance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year.

What you'll do:

Eaton is currently seeking a Lead Analyst- Engineering Finance to join our team. This position can be based at either the Galesburg, MI or Beachwood, OH location. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
The Lead Analyst - Engineering Finance will be a critical to Eaton's focus on managing and optimizing a global engineering investment portfolio. This new role will partner with engineering, program management, IT, and finance teams across all the divisions and international sites to develop and manage the foundational processes on how costs are accumulated and optimized on engineering initiatives. The Lead Analyst will be involved in Engineering Finance initiatives such as project accounting, cost pool management, project planning, resource planning, and predictive analytics. This role is a great opportunity for someone interested in being part of a new team that will drive the future standards for a large global organization.
Job Responsibilities:
• Project Accounting: Help develop and execute the processes across Eaton to cost engineering labor and expenditures to projects. Work collaboratively with engineering finance leaders to ensure the proper recording of actuals against projects. Oversee the financial attributes of key systems involved in recording costs to projects.
• Project Expense Costing: Implement processes to systematically assign expenditures to projects, including reviewing transactional data from the SAP and Oracle General Ledger systems. Ensure data is correlated in a consistent and reportable format, utilizing a data driven model that supports the future digitalization of the process.
• Project Reporting: Provide project based reporting to project owners including project spend and applied hours metrics. Oversee project reporting processes including updating of dashboards and analytical tools.
• Project Reconciliations: Reconcile the project reporting systems against actuals reported for R&D in the general ledger and the ProPM project portfolio management tool (Clarity). Lead efforts to drive project subledger accuracy.
• Labor Rate Management: Work collaboratively with the engineering finance leaders to ensure consistency in rate cost structures. Ensure rates are properly updated in timekeeping system to cost actuals. Manage rate tables in project portfolio management tool for use in project labor forecasts.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Support engineering project planning processes in ProPM project portfolio management tool (Clarity) including resource planning, provisional rates, driving pool centralization and simplification initiatives, and project costing.
• System Implementations: Support Eaton's journey to implement a systematic approach to project costing for labor and non-labor expenses. Work closely with the operations to identify best practices and leverage those to businesses that are improving project costing processes. Work with IT on future implementations and integrations to automate current processes. Help develop standard work and process documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Galesburg, MI or Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
Preferred qualifications:
• Proficiency with Excel
• Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and other Eaton accounting policies and procedures.
