Responsibilities

As a Lead Advanced Field Service Tech here at Honeywell, you will work remotely and travel to our customer's facilities or job sites performing the maintenance functions, audits, PM's, etc per the Intelligrated \ Transnorm contract or specific job assignment. Your expertise and leadership will drive the success of our field service operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to our customers.

You will report directly to our Sr Field Service Manager and you'll work out of our Richardson, Texas location on a Remote work schedule.

In this role, the Technician is critical to the smooth operation of our customer's distribution centers and will be required to perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of our customer's various material handling systems. The Technician will take the initiative to coordinate with other departments the activities required for the safe and satisfactory completion of any job tasks. The Technician will represent Intelligrated \ Transnorm on site and will also need to follow our customer's guidelines for general work practices outlined on site and be committed to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Position requires traveling to customer sites and making repairs on various types of conveyor equipment.
  • Position requires a high degree of direct customer service skills as they will be handling meetings and visits directly with the customer.
  • Assists other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Completes work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g. multi-meter, laptop)
  • Operates material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, according to safety and quality procedures
  • Assists in the development of specific technical and training documentation; assists in the development of a Technical Support Help Desk/Troubleshooting Guide
  • Provides resolutions to mechanical or other technical issues; documents all information relating to customer support issues in Dashboard database; utilizes resources in other departments (when necessary) to expedite the resolution of conveyor-related issues
  • Provides information to the Customer Service Department and other members of management to enhance Customer Service success
  • Follows up with customers and other departments to ensure issues have been resolved
  • Maintains inventory of company supplied tools
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and trip reports in a timely manner
  • Complete all expense reports in a timely manner per procedures
  • Complete quotes for site specific jobs.
  • Adheres to all department and company standards, operating procedures and safety requirements while contributing to improvement
  • Serves as a Technical Trainer with the ability to teach in formal setting.
  • May be technical SME onsite and required to lead detail repairs done by others.
  • Ability to travel over 85% of the year.
  • Ability to obtain US Passport as international travel may be required.
  • Valid US Driver's License for any traveling position.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • 4 to 5 years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience required.
  • 0 to 1 year Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience required.
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Shift work may be required along with holidays.
  • Ability to work 100% remote
  • Requires ability to travel extensively 85% Plus
  • Requires the ability to rent cars from major companies


WE VALUE
  • Previous experience with Transnorm Material Handling Equipment
  • Formal Vocational Training in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, etc a plus.
  • Material handling experience in Conveyor, sortation, palletizers, and robotics is a plus.
  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting experience a plus.
  • Fabrication and Rigging equipment for installation is a plus.
