Full Job Description
This is a Lead Accountant role located in San Diego, CA working hybrid. This role is responsible for the review and oversight of Intuit's global Accounts Receivable accounting operations, spanning month-end close, billing and adjustment activity, SOX compliance, external audit support, and AR-related transformation projects. The role operates across multiple billing platforms, entities, and geographies, and serves as the senior technical reviewer and escalation point for the AR function.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and lead across multiple functions to achieve accounting objectives, exercising sound judgment on complex transactions and driving issues through to resolution with full transparency to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Review and approve month-end journal entries & balance sheet reconciliations across AR-related accounts, assessing reconciliation variances and risks and drive timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end flux commentary on AR balances and review flux analyses with leadership.
  • Oversee billing operations and adjustment activity, including invoice review, and cross-team coordination of manual invoices, credit memos, and debit memos.
  • Own AR SOX and internal control activities: execute and certify controls, and maintain accurate process and system documentation.
  • Coordinate audit deliverables, requests, and walkthroughs for the AR function.
  • Overall process ownership for the Accounts Receivable space, inclusive of work executed by the Shared Services Center in India.
  • Serve as the escalation point for AR accounting issues and questions, providing technical guidance and driving resolution across the team and partner functions.
  • Lead and support AR transformation initiatives, including process automation and simplification, as well as AR integration for acquisitions and new product offerings.


Qualifications
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including significant experience reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
  • Deep knowledge of order-to-cash / accounts receivable accounting, including payment processor activity, billing adjustments, and multi-currency, multi-entity environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated ability to apply it to complex, high-volume transaction flows.
  • Hands-on experience with SOX compliance as a control owner or reviewer, including control execution, certification, and audit support; experience partnering with Big 4 external auditors.
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement and automation in accounting operations; experience with system implementations & acquisition integrations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting conclusions for non-accounting stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and BlackLine strongly preferred.
  • Highly motivated self-starter able to operate independently in a fast-paced, multi-business-unit environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
