Responsibilities

  • Support the external sales team as a key internal contact for institutional and intermediary clients.
  • Assist in servicing financial advisors and private bankers across the US Offshore landscape.
  • Identify and acquire new investor clients for Morgan Stanley Investment Management across various asset classes.
  • Organize and coordinate client events, meetings, and roadshows, ensuring thorough follow-up activities.
  • Gain a robust understanding of Morgan Stanley's funds and investment strategies to effectively communicate to clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to prepare business plans and internal reporting documentation.
  • Manage sales pipelines and notes in Salesforce, tracking opportunities and client interactions.
  • Work alongside marketing to develop relevant publications and strategy discussions that appeal to clients.
  • Facilitate onboarding, due diligence, and legal documentation processes for intermediary clients in partnership with control teams.
  • Coordinate operational support with Client Services teams based in the US and Luxembourg.

Full Job Description

The individual would be part of the Latin America and US Offshore Sales team at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. The individual will support senior sales colleagues with maintaining business relationships with institutional and intermediary clients. The role would have additional sales responsibilities covering financial advisors, private bankers and other US Offshore intermediary clients in Florida, New York, Texas and California. The position will be based in New York, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Support external sales team as an internal point person for existing and prospective institutional and intermediary clients.
  • Additional sales responsibilities include providing support in covering financial advisors, private bankers and other US Offshore intermediary clients.
  • Acquire new investor clients for MSIM across the full spectrum of asset classes including equities, fixed income, and private markets. Coordinate/Schedule client events/conferences, road shows and meetings as well as logistics for these initiatives. Responsible for trip/client follow up.
  • Develop a deep understanding of MSIM’s suite of funds and investment strategies.
  • Communicate MSIM product information to clients and explain the investment philosophy and process.
  • Working closely with the sales team to help prepare business plans, sales channel reporting or other internal management requests for the business.
  • Maintaining, creating, updating and reporting sales opportunities/pipelines/meeting notes in Salesforce.
  • Alignment and proactive collaboration with internal departments (product management, investment teams, marketing, sales controlling, etc.).
  • Work with the marketing team on the creation of publications and strategy-focused collateral that resonate with clients.
  • Support intermediary onboarding, due diligence, and legal documentation in coordination with control partners.
  • Coordinate operational support for the business with Client Services groups in the US and Luxembourg.
  • Work with team in project implementation and execution.

Qualifications:

  • 4 – 7+ years of sales experience of offshore asset management products with broker dealers, private banks and institutional investors in Latin America and the US non-resident client (NRC).
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, the asset management industry and offshore investment vehicles across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments
  • Quantitative and financial analysis skills a plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging at all organizational levels.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks and flexibility to change focus quickly.
  • Skill to effectively prioritize and make the appropriate trade-offs as needed.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required (or obtainable within a defined timeframe); CFA/CIMA a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish required; Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Position requires work authorization in the US.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
