JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

This position is within Abbott's Cancer Diagnostics business. Abbott's Cancer Diagnostics business was established through the acquisition of Exact Sciences', bringing together Abbott's global diagnostics leadership with Exact Sciences' expertise in cancer screening and diagnostic testing. Together, we're advancing the early detection of cancer and improving outcomes for patients through innovative, accessible testing solutions. Our combined portfolio and reach allow us to bring life-changing diagnostic technology to more patients, providers, and health systems worldwide.

As the LAS Operations Procurement Specialist II, you'll manage procurement of laboratory equipment, service contracts, and services across the enterprise, owning the purchase order and service contract lifecycles while partnering with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely fulfillment, financial value, compliance, and operational alignment.

What Youll Work On

  • Manage the full purchase order lifecycle, including documentation, data entry, approvals, submission, order expediting, status monitoring, issue resolution, and reconciliation of outstanding purchase orders with requestors, buyers, warehouse personnel, vendors, and other third parties.

  • Manage the lifecycle of laboratory equipment and service contracts, including planning, supplier engagement, negotiation support, execution, performance monitoring, renewals, and business reviews to ensure agreements are strategically sourced, financially optimized, and operationally aligned.

  • Evaluate and maintain supplier and vendor information, recommend suppliers from approved sources, support price negotiations, maintain pricing and lead-time data, assist with sourcing parts and materials, and guide departments toward products and services that meet quality and financial standards.

  • Monitor supply needs, delivery schedules, lead times, and procurement activity; prepare reports, metrics, and data summaries; communicate schedule or delivery changes; resolve stalled submittals; and partner with Accounts Payable to address invoice and quote discrepancies.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Service Operations, Supply Chain, and end users to improve workflows, streamline purchasing strategies, strengthen vendor performance, support compliance, and proactively identify and implement operational improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain, or a related field; Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 4+ years of experience in buying, supply chain, inventory management, and ERP systems.

  • Proficient computer skills including Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, or Teams.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within SAP.

  • 2+ years of experience with databases, spreadsheets, and statistical programs.

  • Knowledge of ISO 17025:2005 and 21 CFR Part 820 requirements regarding inspection, measuring, and test equipment.

The base pay for this position is

$61,300.00 6 $122,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
