Job Description:

Leads an IT team delivering enterprise applications and manufacturing site technology across Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division, with a strong focus on business partnership, customer-centered service delivery, and continuous application improvement.

What You Will Do:
• Customer-Focused Business Partner: Serve as the primary IT point of contact for Large Power Systems business leaders. Build trusted relationships, translate business challenges into IT solutions, and advocate for the customer's needs within the broader IT organization. Maintain a forward-looking demand pipeline and communicate proactively on delivery status and risk.
• Large Power Information Technology Portfolio Leader: Own the lifecycle of LPSD application portfolios - including Engine Emissions and manufacturing operations applications - ensuring systems are reliable, performant, and aligned to evolving business needs. Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize enhancements, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement.
• Manufacturing Site IT Liaison: Provide IT leadership and support across multiple Large Power Systems manufacturing sites, maintaining engagement with site management and serving as a thought leader for shop floor technology, operational continuity, and issue resolution.
• IT Project Engagement: Sponsor small to large-scale application and infrastructure projects, including delivery of IT capabilities to new or expanding manufacturing facilities. Drive disciplined project execution, stakeholder communication, and on-time delivery.
• Business Engagement Broker: Partner with architects and business to maintain a prioritized roadmap of business needs, create solution proposals, forecast demand, and follow Caterpillar IT demand management and solution request processes.
• Infrastructure & Operations Oversight: Provide oversight for local infrastructure components - network, server, storage, and endpoints - that underpin manufacturing and application environments. Partner with security team to disaster recovery, security controls, and corporate IT compliance objectives across all supported sites.
• Talent Leader: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing IT team. Mentor team members, foster a culture of accountability and customer service, and build long-term organizational capability.

What You Have:

Demonstrated experience leading IT people in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a strong track record of building high-performing teams, developing talent, and delivering results in matrixed organizations. (Required)
• Experience managing enterprise application portfolios - including requirements gathering, stakeholder management, application lifecycle, and vendor oversight. Preference for candidates with manufacturing applications and / or regulatory/emissions application experience.
• Proven ability to build credible, trusted relationships with business partners and act as a customer focused advocate within an IT organization.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing shop floor technology and OT/IT integration, with an understanding of the unique demands of production environments.
• Solid foundation in IT infrastructure - network, server, storage, cloud platforms, and virtualization - sufficient to provide informed oversight and direction to technical teams.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including access controls, patch management, firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills; experience with disaster recovery and high-availability solutions for critical systems.
• Ability to develop and execute IT strategic plans aligned with business goals, technology roadmaps, and application/infrastructure lifecycle needs.
• Excellent communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences and represent IT credibly at all organizational levels.

Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g., vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers).

IT Service Management (ITSM):
Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) service; ability to manage IT services and oversee service operations across application and infrastructure environments.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic:
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years), and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Communicating Complex Concepts:
Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, plain language appropriate to the audience.

Consulting:
Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

Cybersecurity Risk Management:
Knowledge of tools, techniques, approaches, and processes of cybersecurity risk management; ability to ensure organizational network operation and minimize negative effect of cybersecurity risks.

Analytical Thinking:
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
