POSITION: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Clinical Coordinator REPORTS TO: Dean of Allied HealthSALARY: Upper $80's to $90k annually, depending on education, qualifications and experience
EFFECTIVE: This position is available now at the Forsyth campus, and may be required to travel to multiple campuses as needed.
POSITION OVERVIEW;The primary responsibility of this position is coordinating high-quality clinical experiences for ASN students. As a collaborative member of the nursing faculty, the Clinical Coordinator may occasionally provide classroom or clinical support, including temporary coverage for an adjunct clinical instructor, as program needs arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The ASN Clinical Coordinator organizes clinical learning experiences that meet program requirements and support student success. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with clinical partners, coordinating student placements and Clinical Instructors (Cis), managing clinical contracts, and ensuring appropriate clinical assignments. The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with ASN faculty to support student learning and the ongoing development of the nursing program. While the primary focus of this position is clinical coordination; may occasionally assist with classroom or clinical instruction as program needs arise. Occasional travel within the college's service area is required. Will also assist with ACEN accreditation activities and perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (As defined by the GBON Rules & Regulations, Rule 410-8-.05. Faculty)
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Current, unencumbered Georgia RN licensure in good standing;
- Minimum of 2 years' work experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in an Associate level prelicensure Nursing program OR 3 years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day and infrequent evening hours
- Ability to participate in appropriate staff development and College activities
- Ability to supervise diverse student populations in classroom and clinical settings
- Ability to develop and evaluate lesson plans, and select instructional materials
- Ability to assess student progress and competency achievement
- Ability to manage administrative responsibilities related to teaching, reporting, and accreditation
- Ability to manage clinical site coordination, student advisement, and related documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional relationships with students, faculty/staff, and clinical partners
- Proficiency with work-related computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Effective verbal and written communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
- Clinical or educational administration experience
- Recent electronic health record experience
- Current membership in a professional Nursing organization;
- Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Ability to stand for extended periods (classroom and clinical instruction)
- The ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds with assistance
