We are looking for a licensed Landscape Architect who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys leading projects from concept through construction while building strong client relationships.
As a Landscape Architect Project Manager, you will lead the planning, design, and execution of a wide range of projects, including parks, campuses, streetscapes, and mixed-use developments.
Responsibilities:- Lead site planning and design efforts, including layout, grading, stormwater, landscaping, and open space design
- Manage all aspects of projects including technical design, budgets, schedules, and client coordination
- Prepare conceptual and detailed site plans, construction documents, and permitting packages
- Oversee entitlement processes including rezonings, special use permits, and site plan approvals (as needed on projects)
- Ensure QA/QC standards are met and deliver high-quality, coordinated designs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and fostering strong relationships
- Collaborate closely with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and internal teams
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies
- Present designs to clients, boards, commissions, and community stakeholders
- Support construction administration activities including site visits, RFIs, and shop drawing reviews
- Monitor project progress and provide direction to maintain quality and schedule
- Mentor and guide project team members to support their development and project success
- Participate in business development efforts by strengthening existing relationships and building new ones
- Attend industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities
- Prepare monthly invoices and review subconsultant billing
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
- Registered Landscape Architect (PLA) in good standing (NC preferred)
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Strong project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to provide technical guidance and project reviews to landscape designers/junior engineer reports, helping them adhere to best practices
- Experience with land planning, site design, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion control
- General knowledge of entitlement and permitting processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Strong graphic and visualization skills (digital and hand graphics)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present to clients, boards, and community stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
