COMPENSATION Annual Pay Range: $99,061.31 - $125,009.44 Hourly Pay Range: $47.625630 - $60.100692 Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on the candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development (DTD) is seeking a motivated, experienced, and collaborative professional to join our Transportation Engineering & Construction team as a Land Surveyor. If selected for this position, you will provide professional surveying expertise in support of roadway, right-of-way, and construction projects throughout the County. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge, field experience, and problem-solving skills to projects that directly support the County's transportation infrastructure.

Required Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:* - Possession of a valid and active registration as a Professional Land Surveyor in any state (U.S.) at time of hire
- Please see the Post- employment Requirements with regard to the State of Oregon registration as a Professional Surveyor
- A minimum of one (1) year of related experience working with surveys related to transportation infrastructure projects, and/or roadway and transportation systems
- Experience conducting research and preparing drawings, maps, legal descriptions, and/or survey-related documents
- Experience providing customer service to the public as well as to other stakeholders, such as other jurisdictions, private consultants, and project managers
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills:* - Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) registration in the State of Oregon
- Experience reviewing and approving legal descriptions and construction surveys
- Proficiency with modern survey technologies, such as GNSS, LiDAR, electronic data collectors, and CAD/design software
- Experience performing or reviewing surveys related to transportation infrastructure, including roads, bridges, right-of-way resolution, and construction staking
Pre-Employment Requirements: - Must pass a post-offer physical assessment; accommodation requests will be reviewed on an individual basis in compliance with State and Federal legislation.
- Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver's license, and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment.
Post-Employment Requirements: - Incumbent must be registered as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Oregon within one (1) year of hire and maintain a valid and active license as a Professional Land Surveyor by the State of Oregon throughout the course of employment, as required by statute.

TYPICAL TASKS Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Review road right of way, construction, and monument restoration surveys. Certify surveys with professional stamp and signature for recording purposes.
- Prepare and/or check legal descriptions and exhibits.
- Conduct records research related to right of way surveys, property ownership, and road status.
- Coordinate and participate in field survey work. Operate total stations, GNSS receivers, levels and other miscellaneous survey related equipment.
- Provide advice and assistance to the public, consultants, other municipalities and other County departments on matters related to property ownership, land surveying, legal descriptions and property dedications.
- Participate in team budget preparations by evaluating current and future needs and recommending hardware and software upgrades and purchases.
- Attend training and upgrading of skills as required to maintain professional continuing education requirements and to benefit the Transportation Engineering and Construction Program.

WORK SCHEDULE This position is included in the County's alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
This position is eligible for
hybrid on-site/telework and based on the Department's business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
WORKING CONDITIONS Occasional duties in the field require squatting, crouching, crawling, kneeling, standing, sitting, digging, stooping/bending, twisting, balancing, reaching forward/overheard, walking, stair climbing/ladder climbing, driving, grasping/pinching, finger manipulation, and involve exposure to inclement weather, noise, and slippery and/or uneven terrain.
