LACO is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief in the Ukiah office to lead field survey crews on a variety of projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and control surveys. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and capable of producing accurate field data while maintaining strong communication with clients, contractors, and project staff.
Responsibilities:- Lead field survey crew in daily operations.
- Perform boundary, topographic, construction staking, and control surveys.
- Read and interpret maps, plans, plats, legal descriptions, and construction documents.
- Operate and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, data collectors, and levels.
- Complete accurate field notes, sketches, calculations, and data uploads.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients as needed.
- Ensure safe work practices and maintain company equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications:- Previous experience as a Survey Party Chief or field crew leader 3+ years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, field procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage field crews efficiently.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.
