Land Survey Project Manager

As our Land Survey Project Manager for our Survey & Geospatial team in Salt Lake City, you'll step into a leadership role supporting premier infrastructure projects across Utah while helping guide project delivery, mentor teams, and expand surveying and mapping services in a growing market. You'll also gain access to cutting-edge technology including GPS, Static Scanners, Mobile Scanners, Drones, and more.
What You'll Do

As our Land Survey Project Manager, you will lead survey and mapping projects from initiation through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met while supporting team development and business growth initiatives.
  • Project Management & Oversight
    Provide project management, technical oversight, strategic direction, and leadership across survey and mapping projects while meeting performance and profitability goals.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement
    Prepare scopes of work, budgets, fee proposals, and contracts; support presentations, proposals, and responses to RFPs/RFQs; and help develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the Utah market.
  • Technical Leadership
    Apply your expertise in land surveying and mapping to support surveyors, CAD drafters, and subconsultants while utilizing conventional survey methods, GPS, and LiDAR scanning technologies.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship
    Support recruiting, retention, interviewing, and team development while contributing to a collaborative leadership environment.
  • Project Coordination & Communication
    Lead coordination efforts and ensure successful communication between clients, project teams, and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Required Qualifications
  • Land Surveyor-In-Training Certification (LSIT)
  • 5+ years of project management experience in land surveying
  • Strong understanding of Utah survey practices and regulations
  • Experience with modern survey equipment and software
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Trimble Business Center (TBC)
  • Desire to develop and maintain industry client relationships within the Utah market
  • Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements
  • Experience preparing subdivision maps, parcel maps, records of survey, legal descriptions, and exhibits
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Utah
  • Knowledge of UDOT mapping requirements
  • Experience with MicroStation and InRoads
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $100,000-$150,000 annually (commensurate with experience; compensation may be adjusted for highly qualified candidates)
