Position Summary

Our Portland, OR office has an opportunity for an experienced attorney to join the Firm's expanding practice in the exciting area of traditional labor law. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience, including working with either public or private sector employers on arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, and/or bargaining matters. We have a strong preference for a candidate with the above-described qualifications, but we will consider others with more or less years of experience.

Ogletree's Portland office has one of the most dynamic labor and employment practices in the Pacific Northwest and is expanding to meet client demands and to prepare for future growth.

This position is available as a traditional shareholder-track role based out of our Portland, OR or Seattle, WA offices. Alternatively, the role may be performed on a non-Shareholder track, fully remote basis for those who require more flexibility in location. Remote employees must be located in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho and have availability to travel to Oregon regularly for clients' Labor needs.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Oregon. We will also consider candidates actively seeking admission to the Oregon bar. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
  • Candidates must possess traditional labor experience, ideally 3 years.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills are required.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills are required. Outstanding academic credentials preferred (Top 25% of class).

Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $185,000 and $240,000. In accordance with New York State's Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $230,000 and $300,000. In accordance with California's amended labor code, as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $205,000 and $300,000. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $185,000 and $275,000. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $205,000 and $275,000. In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $205,000 and $240,000. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current scale range for this position in Ohio is $157,500 - $200,000 annually. In accordance with Massachusetts Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act, the expected salary range for this Massachusetts position is between $205,000 and $275,000. In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Minnesota position is between $157,500 and $200,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
