Position Summary

To support these efforts, NYU Stern has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Manager, Tech and Society Lab. The Lab Manager is the operational backbone of the NYU Tech & Society Lab - the person who makes sure the Lab's day-to-day activities run smoothly, its finances are in order, and its resources are fully leveraged. They will serve as a critical force behind the success of leadership, creating systems and providing seamless project management, and operational leadership. The lab manager maximizes the ability of the researchers to focus on the work. They will manage projects that contribute to the Lab's strategic growth, efficiency, and overall impact, including monitoring key initiatives, ensuring timelines, deliverables, budgets, and next steps are clearly defined and executed. The Lab Manager will navigate NYU's systems and culture from the inside, build relationships across the university, and bring organizational rigor to a fast-moving, high-profile research environment.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience in project management, academic administration, research operations, or a related role or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational, attention to detail, and project management skills are required along with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Flexibility with an ability to adapt based on business needs. Tech-fluent; you can own a digital workspace, learn new tools quickly, and make systems work well for a team. A clear communicator who builds trust easily across researchers, administrators, and external partners. Comfortable with numbers and financial administration. Curious about research on technology and adolescent wellbeing, and interested in growing into a deeper research support role over time. Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Box, Airtable, and Slack. Experience at NYU or similar research institution is preferred.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000 to USD $115,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
