Responsibilities

What You Will Do:
​​​We are currently searching foraLabManagera toa providea support services to satisfy the overall operationala objectivesa of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institutea (NHLBI).aaThis is a full-time, on-site opportunity ina Bethesda,a MD.aa

  • Supporta day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring a well-organized, efficient, and productive research environment.a

  • Maintain laboratory equipment,a coordinatea routine maintenance, calibrationand repair schedules.a

  • Develop and implement organizational systems for reagents, consumables, samples, and shared equipment.a

  • Assista in onboarding new lab members and provide guidance on laboratory procedures and best practices.a

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for laboratory safety, ensuring compliance with NIH, NHLBI, and federal regulations governing biosafety, chemical safety, and radiation safety (if applicable).a

  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and biological material records.a

  • Coordinate safety training for lab personnel and ensurea timelya completion of required certifications.a

  • Conduct regular laboratory safety inspections anda facilitatea corrective actions as needed.a

  • Liaise with NIH Safety and other regulatory bodies asa required.a

  • Ensurea an organizeda and efficient laboratory space.a

  • Manage procurement of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.a

  • Track and reconcile laboratory budgets anda purchasinga records in coordination with staff.a

  • Maintain inventory systems to ensure critical supplies are always available.a

  • Evaluate vendor relationships anda identifya opportunities for improved pricing or quality.a

  • Perform and support a range of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including but not limited to(1)aaDNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and gel electrophoresis, (2) protein expression, purification, andanalysis, (3) cell culture and transfection (as applicable); (4) preparation of buffers, reagents, and experimental solutions; (5) preparation of lab experimental materials.

  • Maintain detailed anda accuratea laboratory records and protocols.a

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a closely related field.a

  • A minimum ofSIX (6)years ofa laboratorya experience.

  • Proficiencya in core molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.a

  • Demondstrated knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance.a

  • Ability to adapt to evolving research needs.a

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD 2public trust2; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
