Position Summary:

The LIMs Administrator is responsible for ensuring that globally laboratory information systems (LIS) and related IT infrastructure operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with regulatory and good laboratory standards. This role blends laboratory operations expertise with IT system administration skills. The Laboratory Information Management System Administrator ensures that laboratory systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with operational and regulatory needs, bridging the gap between laboratory science and information technology

This position is based at our Danbury, CT facility and will require fully on-site working Monday-Friday.

Core Responsibilities:
  • System Management & Maintenance: Oversee the installation, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of laboratory management systems, including laboratory information systems (LIS), test management software, and related databases
  • Implementation & Integration: Lead or support the implementation of new LIS solutions, ensuring compatibility with existing lab workflows and IT infrastructure
  • Data Integrity & Security: Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and security of laboratory data; enforce access controls, audit trails, and compliance with HIPAA, CLIA, or other relevant regulations
  • User Support & Training: Provide technical support to laboratory staff, troubleshoot system issues, and develop training programs for effective LIMS use
  • Policy & Compliance: Develop and enforce policies for system use, data handling, and reporting; ensure adherence to industry standards and accreditation requirements
  • Budget & Procurement: Manage the LIMS budget, negotiate vendor contracts, and oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services
  • Network & Infrastructure Support: Maintain lab network infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization environments, ensuring reliability and performance
  • Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to LIS functionality, data flow, and integration with other hospital or research systems
  • Customer Communications: Ensure clear customer communications and access to data


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field
  • Certifications: MCSE, CCNA, RHCE, or other IT certifications; lab-specific certifications or experience (e.g. ISO 17025, IATF 16949 ) may be preferred
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in database administration, LIMS Systems (Qbench), Office, and network devices
  • Collaboration: Works closely with laboratory directors, IT teams, and Customers.
  • Laboratory Knowledge: Understanding of laboratory operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Experience: System integrations involving laboratory equipment, LIMS and D365 F&O are beneficial
