Job Description:

The Learning & Development Advisor partners with retail leaders and business stakeholders to identify capability gaps and deliver effective learning solutions that support business performance. This role serves as a consultant, project manager, and learning professional responsible for designing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives across the US retail business that support frontline team members, site leadership, district leadership, and field operations.

The L&D Advisor manages learning projects from intake through deployment, collaborates with subject matter experts, oversees learning governance processes, and ensures learning solutions align with organizational objectives and learner needs.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Consulting & Business Partnership
  • Partner with business leaders, People & Culture, and operational stakeholders to identify learning and performance needs.
  • Recommend appropriate learning solutions, including instructor-led training, eLearning, job aids, videos, guides, and blended learning programs.
  • Provide consultation on change management, employee development, onboarding, compliance, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted learning advisor for retail leaders and cross-functional partners.


Learning Project Management
  • Lead retail learning projects from initiation through implementation and evaluation.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, communication strategies, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Coordinate with SMEs, content designers, LMS administrators, HRIS teams, and field partners to ensure successful delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and resource needs.


Learning Design & Development
  • Create and/or oversee development of learning materials, including:
    • eLearning courses
    • Facilitator guides
    • Participant workbooks
    • Job aids and infographics
    • Training videos
    • Leadership development resources
  • Ensure learning solutions follow established instructional design standards and learner-centered principles.
  • Review and improve existing learning content to maintain relevance and effectiveness.


Learning Deployment & Governance
  • Coordinate deployment of learning solutions through the LMS and other learning platforms.
  • Maintain learning inventories, learning journeys, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with learning governance, file retention, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Partner with HRIS and LMS administrators to implement and maintain learning assignments and reporting structures.


Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor learning participation, completion rates, and business impact metrics.
  • Analyze learner feedback and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend enhancements to learning programs, processes, and learner experiences.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the L&D function.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field preferred.


Experience
  • 4-7 years of experience in Learning & Development, Retail Training, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Experience managing enterprise learning projects and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning technologies like Articulate 360.
  • Experience designing and delivering adult learning solutions preferred.
