Full Job Description
New Way Trucks is currently seeking a highly dedicated Key Account Manager (KAM). This individual serves as the primary relationship leader for some of North America's largest waste and recycling companies. This highly visible role is responsible for developing and executing account growth strategies, strengthening executive-level relationships, and delivering solutions that improve customer performance while creating sustainable revenue growth for the organization. The ideal candidate combines deep industry knowledge, a consultative sales mindset, and the ability to navigate complex organizations. Working closely with executive leadership, engineering, operations, manufacturing, dealers, and customer support teams, the KAM ensures customers receive exceptional value throughout the entire lifecycle of their partnership.

Your Role in Our Mission:

Strategic Account Leadership
  • Develop and implement multi-year strategic account plans for national and regional waste management organizations.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor and primary commercial contact for executive leaders, fleet managers, operations teams, maintenance leaders, and procurement professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to expand equipment, parts, service, technology, and aftermarket business across assigned accounts.
  • Drive customer retention, market share growth, and long-term profitability.

Relationship Development
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels of customer organizations.
  • Conduct executive business reviews, presenting fleet performance metrics, operational insights, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Understand each customer's strategic objectives and align solutions that improve productivity, safety, uptime, and total cost of ownership.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally to influence product development and service enhancements.

Business Growth & Sales Execution
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through proposal development, negotiation, delivery, and post-sale support.
  • Coordinate national account strategies with dealer partners while supporting local sales and customer initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful implementation of customer solutions.
  • Support new product launches and drive adoption of emerging technologies within strategic accounts.

Market Intelligence
  • Monitor industry trends, customer priorities, competitive activity, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify market opportunities and recommend strategies that strengthen business growth and customer engagement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and professional associations.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and account activities within CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and customer support teams to proactively resolve issues and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

To Perform this Job Successfully:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of fleet operations, capital equipment purchasing, maintenance programs, and customer lifecycle management.

  • Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50-70% throughout North America.
