Job Description Summary
The Grid Solutions Key Account/Business Development Sales manager for Data Center Behind the Meter (BTM) sits within Electrification Division, under Grid Systems Integration (GSI) AC Integrated Systems (ACIS) business line. They are responsible for leading the customer relationship & sales activities for BTM opportunities, to ultimately deliver growth in our turnkey AC substations and Balance of Plant solutions. As a sales manager, you will be identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with new and existing GEV customers. In this role, you will manage the overall account relationships / strategy, position ACIS as an integrator for a full end to end solution (inclusive of full system design, HV/MV substation, Energy Management systems, stability solutions, and more).

Role Summary/Purpose


The Grid Solutions AC Integrated Solutions (ACIS) Key Account/Business Development Sales manager for Behind the Meter (BTM) sits within Electrification Division and is responsible for leading the sales activities and driving the growth of BTM opportunities with Data Center customers for turnkey AC, Balance of Plant solutions tied to power generation. As a sales manager, you will be identifying, developing, and closing business opportunities with new and existing GEV customers. In this role, you will manage the overall account relationships and commercial strategy, and value proposition to customer positioning ACIS as an integrator of a full end to end solution (inclusive of full system design, HV/MV substation, Energy Management systems, stability solutions, and more).

The successful candidate is able to develop strategic relationships with customers at all levels of the organization, while also successfully managing and collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as business leaders in other GE Vernova Business lines and the GEV corporate teams (EDGE & Project Coordination Office). In addition, they have proven capabilities in prospecting new opportunities and closing deals through to executed contracts.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow the AC Integrated Solutions business via capturing larger share of Behind-the-Meter opportunities.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities through market analysis and by collaborating/cross-sharing with other GEV Business units and/or PCO.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers, including Developers, EPCs, utilities, and strategic partners.
  • Lead the full business development/Sales opportunity lifecycle, including prospecting, solution development, proposal preparation, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Collaborate with GEV PCO, GEV BUs, Consulting Services, GSI engineering, Sourcing, Finance, legal, and project delivery teams to develop competitive customer solutions which are simultaneously attractive business for GEV.
  • Monitor evolving BTM projects development,  AI/ Data Center markets, utilities, regulatory policies impacting energy trends and power developments.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, customer meetings, and trade shows.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting using CRM tool Salesforce
  • Achieve or exceed annual Orders, Margin, and customer acquisition targets.

Account Management :

  • Lead and develop customer & segment growth strategies and Account Planning. Mobilize the commercial and technical support team to execute on Sales plan.
  • Develop and own strategic customer relationships with key decision makers in support of sales teams' account strategies.
  • Drive Growth Initiatives and new product introductions within assigned account(s).
  • Conduct Operating Plan and Account reviews with regional leadership.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • BS Engineering or BA degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of direct sales, account management, or team leadership experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in electrical / utility / energy sector

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong situational fluency; ability to develop relationships at an executive level within customer
  • Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills, tailored to various levels of management, engineering and operations
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%.
  • Professional and technical competency with Energy Industry, and Automation and Power Equipment products & services (Transmission / Distribution or Power Generation).
  • Familiarity  with  economic  and  incentive  drivers  for  executive-level  procurement  decisions  in  the  energy  market. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship / team building
  • MBA

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
