Full Job Description

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) is seeking a Junior Wind Tunnel Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact high-priority Navy missions.

The Junior Wind Tunnel Engineer supports the preparation, execution, and analysis of high‑speed aerodynamic test campaigns used to validate the performance of advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems. This hands‑on role works closely with design and analysis teams to translate aerodynamic objectives into detailed test procedures and to ensure the safe and effective operation of wind tunnel facility hardware.

Key responsibilities include assembling and instrumenting complex sub‑scale models using strain‑gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow‑visualization sensors, as well as developing automated routines for data acquisition. The engineer will monitor real‑time data quality during wind tunnel operations, perform reduction and analysis of large experimental datasets, and document aerodynamic coefficients used to validate computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models.
