PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site, located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD, involved in development and execution of the US Navy's Underwater Electromagnetic (UEM) Signatures Silencing program as a Test and Evaluation engineer. Other duties include, but not limited to:
- Navy Surface Ships and Submarine on-board counter measure systems and fleet support
- Ensure proper testing and evaluation of on-board and off-board UEM, navigation, communication, and tracking systems
- Provide technical assistance and training to Navy operators.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Internship experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:- Experience using solid modeling, analysis, and evaluation of structural/component design
- Experience with mechanical measurement tools and techniques
- Experience with developing technical solutions based on analysis or testing
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, AutoCAD, C++, Python, Power Point, MS Word & Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Travel will be required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
