Role Overview:

As a Data Center Engineer at IEX, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical data center operations. This hands-on role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and networking equipment, collaborating with the technology team, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple data center locations. You'll work in a dynamic environment where adaptability and problem-solving skills are key to success.

What You'll Do:
  • Install, rack, stack, and cable servers, switches, routers, and storage systems.
  • Perform hardware installations, replacements, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and cabling issues.
  • Monitor the health and availability of data center infrastructure.
  • Execute routine maintenance according to documented procedures.
  • Label and document network and power connections.
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory and infrastructure documentation.
  • Assist with operating system installations and basic server provisioning.
  • Follow change management and operational procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Work with senior engineers on infrastructure projects and deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with data center safety and security policies.

Your Background:
  • 2+ years of prior data center experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, networking, and IT hardware.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows/Linux) and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a team to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding environments.

  • Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and IT service management (ITSM) processes.
  • Understanding of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base pay is between $90,000 to $120,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The annual base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.
