Junior Analyst

Pay Rate:

$66-110,000

Multiple factors, including individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

This position reports to the Senior Analyst.

The Junior Analyst is responsible for a variety of routine and some non-routine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory receipting and reconciliation, or a related financial area.

The key accountabilities listed below are not to be considered all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks, as directed, based on changing business needs of the company.

  • Perform daily financial activities of the plant.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities and reports.
  • Assist in other accounting duties such as balancing books, processing payments, and reconciling freight.
  • Local Reporting (Daily). Prepare, Review and Investigate prior to distribution.
  • Maintains conformance to internal control systems.
  • Completes monthly closing entries and reconciliations.
  • Assisting in month end closing activities to support Finance, including: Intercompany Accounting, Reclassification entries, balance sheet review, and other month end support including P & L review.
  • Reviews corporate entries for accuracy and provides documentation to corporate Finance team to support entries.
  • Assisting in Inventory analysis and inventory receipting.
  • Supports reconciliations and review of physical inventories.
  • Contacting other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems.
  • Assisting in budgeting preparation and control activities.
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with external and internal customers.
  • A/P - limited Processing, Freight/Utility Invoices. Purchase Order go to for direction on problem resolution. Purchasing Card/Website Purchasing.
  • Finished Goods/Work In Process - Monitoring. Cycle count verification, 3rd Party Outsourced product tracking.
  • Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reviews.
  • All other duties assigned.


Quality Expectations
  • Ensure an understanding of quality policy and support efforts for a positive customer experience.
  • Aid in the execution of mill-wide quality efforts as needed to help maintain mill quality standards.

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Two to three years' accounting experience or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, writing, and speaking) required. Must be a team player.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to analyze, problem solve and make good decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Experience working with SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle details accurately.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
