Position: Submarine Network Systems Build Engineer
Level: Junior to Mid
Location: Newport, Rhode Island
Telework: Onsite, with typical set schedule at Government facility
Salary: $110k-$130k
Position Overview:
We are seeking an In-Service Support Engineer to support submarine network modernization efforts. In this role, you will analyze Fleet trouble reports and provide both remote and on-site technical support to resolve issues. You will also implement corrective actions, support inspections and STIG remediation, provide training to personnel, and deliver 24/7 operational support as required.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze Fleet software trouble reports, troubleshoot reported issues, and develop recommended solutions, delivering Fleet Support Recommendations.
- Provide remote and on-site field support to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software problems aboard submarines when issues cannot be corrected remotely.
- Implement approved corrective actions and revise technical documentation as required to restore system compliance.
- Support Site Assisted Visits (SAV) and Cybersecurity Inspections (CSI) by reviewing STIG findings, troubleshooting issues, providing remediation recommendations, and preparing daily status reports.
- Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to military ship's force personnel on the operation and maintenance of the submarine tactical network.
- Support 24/7 watch bill operations during Technical Insertions, fleet exercises, and wartime readiness activities, delivering technical recommendations and end-of-shift status reports
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of experience developing and modifying software load plans and Procedures
- Active Secret clearance required with eligibility for Top Secret/SCI access and work in classified environments including SIPRNet and NATO systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in RHEL, Windows Server, Windows Client, MECM, VEEAM and Trellix
- Experience with RHEL, Windows, VMware, Cisco, VEEAM, Trellix
- Experience developing and modifying software load plans and procedures in a submarine environment
