Full Job Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyperson Steamfitter/Pipefitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing piping systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, steam systems, and related equipment throughout the plant. This role is crucial to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our facility while minimizing equipment downtime. We are looking for a safety-focused, skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving mechanical challenges, and thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair steam, compressed air, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process piping systems.
  • Install and repair pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose equipment and system failures and complete repairs in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems and supports as required.
  • Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Participate in planned maintenance shutdowns as well as emergency breakdown repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate effectively with the Maintenance team and Operations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, safe work procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyperson Steamfitter/Pipefitter Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal preferred).
  • Valid BC Trades Qualification or Interprovincial (Red Seal) Certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Experience maintaining industrial piping systems, steam systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Experience in a sawmill, forestry, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts, overtime as operational requirements require.


Rate of Pay: $51.245 per hour
