Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit necessary paperwork related to repairs.
  • Mentor apprentices in the shop, sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Keep the work area well-organized and free of hazards.

Job Description

Clean Harbors Edmonton AB is looking for a Ticketed Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician/Mechanic to join their safety conscious team!

The ideal candidate will assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty units including, but not limited to tractors, trailers, and loaders. This is a permanent full-time position in our shop, Monday - Thursday 11.5 hours/day.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly secured prior to work/repairs (i.e. Uses chock blocks and jack stands).
  • Perform thorough inspections of equipment and identify & perform required repairs.
  • Perform routine and specific maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and light and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Complete and submit all associated paperwork as required.
  • Journeypersons will mentor apprentices in shop.
  • Perform regular housekeeping, ensure the work area is free of hazards at all times.


Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician certification.
  • 5+ years' experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
  • Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
  • Previous experience quoting jobs preferred.
  • Class 5 Driver's License required.
