Edmonton AB is looking for a
Ticketed Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician/Mechanic to join their safety conscious team!
The ideal candidate will assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty units including, but not limited to tractors, trailers, and loaders. This is a permanent full-time position in our shop, Monday - Thursday 11.5 hours/day.
Responsibilities- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly secured prior to work/repairs (i.e. Uses chock blocks and jack stands).
- Perform thorough inspections of equipment and identify & perform required repairs.
- Perform routine and specific maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment and light and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Complete and submit all associated paperwork as required.
- Journeypersons will mentor apprentices in shop.
- Perform regular housekeeping, ensure the work area is free of hazards at all times.
Qualifications- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician certification.
- 5+ years' experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
- Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
- Previous experience quoting jobs preferred.
- Class 5 Driver's License required.
