Summary

Our Journeyman Electrician (HBF) role translates to our position known as High-Bay Freezer (HBF) Electrical & Instrumentation Technician. This role is responsible to ensure efficient operation of all electrical and process control instrumentation within the high-bay freezer and warehouse area. This includes mechanical and general facility maintenance, lubrication, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment. This position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the mechanical equipment and can make decisions based on sound judgement when a situation dictates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety of our employees, visitors, and contractors in the number one priority for all workers. This position is responsible to help ensure the safe condition of equipment and our facility in accordance with SOPs and Company policies.
  • Installs, operates, and maintains to a high level of reliability, central process control equipment and instrumentation including but not limited to programmable controllers, motor controllers and wiring.
  • Troubleshoots and makes minor and major repairs of equipment to prevent or minimize equipment downtime.
  • Responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties to include but not limited to the following: painting, carpentry, cement masonry, plumbing, dry wall and/or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining and repairing Simplot owned and operated building facilities.
  • Ensures that equipment including, but not limited to batteries, forklifts, chargers, pumps, motors, doors, dock levelers, hydraulic systems and product transport systems are properly maintained following the specifications of the Company or the manufacturer.
  • Disassembles and reassembles equipment throughout the warehouse area including, but not limited to motors, gearboxes, vales, hydraulic systems, coupler, alignment systems, and weighing systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities as required by the Company and manufacture standards.
  • Maintains all shop inventories, tools, and equipment. Creates, performs, and completes work orders in the system as assigned or as needed.
  • Identifies parts needed for work to be done, conducts inventory searches and locates parts.
  • Documents, monitors, maintains, and assists with reporting of shift events, logging predictive maintenance data and assists with work planning utilizing information systems and productivity software.
  • Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operations goals.
  • May assist with training other plant personnel.
  • Coordinates or schedule work as required.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities require by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operations standards.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Idaho Journeyman Electrician License (Reciprocal licenses accepted)

Relevant Experience
• Two years of industrial mechanical experience required.
• Six months of forklift operating experience required.
• Good knowledge of computer systems and other technology
• MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Other Information

Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.

Shift: Monday - Friday (Dayshift)

Pay: $46.83 p/hr

Other: Rotating on call weekend with maintenance team.
