Job Title: Mainframe Lead
IBM Mainframe (Must Have)
• IBM Mainframe (z/OS)
• COBOL
• JCL (Job Control Language)
• CICS
• DB2
• VSAM
• Good technical understanding of mainframe systems
Distributed Systems
• Working knowledge of distributed systems concepts
• Understanding of APIs, integration, and microservices basics
Programming Languages
• Basic knowledge of Java
• Basic knowledge of Kotlin
AI
Understanding if AI for migration of Mainframe to Java Migration & Leadership
• Mainframe to Java migration experience (Preferred)
• Ability to lead a project independently end-to-end
• Coordination with external teams and vendors
• Stakeholder management and technical leadership
Technical Leadership
• Technically lead a Mainframe migration to Java engagement end-to-end.
• Independently own and drive the project, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for the engagement.
• Provide technical guidance and direction throughout the migration lifecycle.
Coordination & Delivery
• Coordinate with external teams and vendors to align deliverables, timelines, and technical dependencies.
• Analyze existing IBM Mainframe systems and support migration strategy and execution.
• Resolve technical challenges and remove blockers across teams.
Preferred
• Prior experience in mainframe modernization / migration to Java projects.
• Experience leading technical teams or engagements.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
