Full Job Description
We're seeking someone to join our team as a Java Tech Lead - Securities Reference Data to drive the evolution of strategic reference data platforms supporting Index and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF) data mastering, distribution, and modernization initiatives across the Firm.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Lead Software Engineering position at Vice-President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:
  • Design, develop, and enhance applications supporting the ingestion, mastering, and distribution of Securities Reference Data (SRD), with a focus on Index and ETF reference data.
  • Build and maintain scalable Java- and Python-based services supporting reference data workflows across existing SRD platforms and modernization initiatives.
  • Manage and enhance workflows related to instrument hierarchies, identifier mappings, constituent relationships, benchmark relationships, and vendor-driven data changes.
  • Partner with business analysts, stakeholders, and end users to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of application enhancements, production changes, and strategic development initiatives.
  • Ensure high standards of data quality, timeliness, lineage, and governance across reference data platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues while assessing downstream impacts across trading, risk, operations, and regulatory processes.
  • Collaborate with global development teams to deliver resilient, high-performing services leveraging REST APIs, microservices, Kafka, relational databases, and MongoDB.


What you'll bring to the role:
  • 8+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably within Financial Services
  • Experience in Java and/or Python development within enterprise-scale applications.
  • Experience in relational database technologies including SQL, tables, triggers, stored procedures, and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices architectures, and event-driven platforms including Kafka.
  • Experience working with MongoDB, Linux environments, JSON, and XML schemas.
  • Experience working across the full software development lifecycle and collaborating with geographically distributed teams.
  • Understanding of reference data concepts and financial instruments, particularly Indexes, ETFs, and related market data structures.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, analyze complex business problems and deliver practical technical solutions with strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of open-source frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate, Shell scripting, scheduling platforms (ex. Autosys, Cron, Airflow), and modern observability tooling (ex. Open Telemetry, Grafana, Loki, Temp, Prometheus) is advantageous.

Knowledge of French and English is required.
