Java Developer III for a remote opportunity for candidates working EST hours. The Candidate will design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise Java web applications while contributing to modernization initiatives for large-scale business systems. This role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions throughout the full application development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications for the Java Developer III:- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in application development, software engineering, systems testing, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience developing applications using Java.
- Experience working with JDK 21.
- Proficiency with JSON and XML.
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise web applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Java Developer III:- Experience with MongoDB.
- Knowledge of the Quarkus framework.
- Experience developing or deploying containerized applications.
- Familiarity with application modernization or legacy system migration projects.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Responsibilities of the Java Developer III:- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise Java-based web applications.
- Enhance and modernize existing applications using current technologies and development standards.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and quality assurance teams to deliver software solutions.
- Troubleshoot application issues and implement effective technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development best practices.
- Contribute to the delivery of reliable, scalable, and maintainable software applications.
Work Location: Hybrid work arrangement preferred with onsite work several days per week in Columbia, SC. Remote candidates may be considered based on business needs and qualifications. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or additional onsite support as required.
