Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Develop client relationships, grow commission revenues, and increase market share within existing and prospective institutional investor accounts.
- Market CITIC CLSA research, analysts, and investment ideas to clients, converting research engagement into trading activity.
- Coordinate corporate access activities, including non-deal roadshows, reverse roadshows, conferences, Access Days, and bespoke client trips.
- Cross-sell broader CITIC capabilities as part of a platform sales model, introducing relevant products and services across the franchise.
- Target new accounts and deepen penetration within strategic focus accounts through disciplined coverage and business development.
- Serve as the Key Relationship Manager (KRM) for assigned clients, acting as the primary owner of the relationship and accountable for driving overall account success across the CITIC/CLSA platform.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Japan's macroeconomic, regulatory, and market environment and communicate relevant investment opportunities to clients.
- Translate macroeconomic, regulatory, and sector developments into clear, investable insights for global investors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting or related discipline ideal
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in institutional equity sales, client coverage or capital markets roles, with direct exposure to Japan and APAC equity markets and institutional investor engagement
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as an Associate (3+ years of experience)
- Well-developed professional and strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts through networking at all levels within the client organization and driving trading revenues
- Sound understanding of global equity markets, with demonstrated familiarity in Japan-listed equities, including market dynamics, sector trends, and investor positioning
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills combined with excellent interpersonal and client servicing capabilities, with the ability to synthesize research into actionable investment ideas
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven team player with the ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Japanese, with the ability to communicate complex ideas across global clients and internal stakeholders
- Series 7 and 63 licenses are required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
Salary Range: $179,000 - $200,000
