Job Purpose / SummarySupervise and lead the Battlewatch support team, providing oversight, mentorship, and knowledge management, and serving as directorate task lead for J3 activities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and lead the Battlewatch support team (Monday-Friday, [redacted]), maintaining awareness of J3 activities.
- Provide leadership and scheduling oversight of all Battlewatch specialists, submitting the monthly shift schedule to the COR and ensuring 100% manning at all times.
- Provide a daily summary of all items received through the Battlewatch during off-duty and holiday periods.
- Act as assistant to the Senior Contract Program Manager for J3 activities and assist in report compilation.
- Monitor, assess, and report the status of SOF and friendly force current operations; advise the J33 chief; provide initial crisis response and notification.
- Ensure full operability of the Battlewatch as the central notification/data-source center, including for denial-of-service cyber-attacks; update and improve Battlewatch processes and TTPs.
Qualifications and Skills- Education and experience: MA/MS in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Applied Statistics, Operations Research, or Systems Analysis; JPME Level II or Service equivalent / advanced military education (SAMS, JAWS, Service War College); at least 5 years of strategic and operational planning and analysis; at least 3 years of experience in one of the specialty areas (CENTCOM AOR, MISO, MILDEC, CWMD, ORSA, CYBER, AT/FP, SNA, Special Programs, or Interagency); OR an equivalent combination of at least 10 years of SOF operational experience and education.
- Demonstrated supervisory and knowledge-management experience in an operations center environment.
