We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, procurement, and sustainment of Intravehicular Activity (IVA) spacesuit systems for human-rated spaceflight programs. This role serves as the technical integrator between engineering disciplines, manufacturing, suppliers, test organizations, logistics, and program management to ensure successful delivery of mission-critical hardware.
The IVA spacesuit programs and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment. The Project Engineer will play a key role in coordinating technical activities, resolving issues, supporting qualification testing, managing procurement efforts, developing technical documentation, and driving project execution from design through flight readiness.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate the technical execution of IVA spacesuit hardwarethroughout the product lifecycle, including design, fabrication, integration, qualification, certification, and operational support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including systems, mechanical, electrical, thermal, materials, manufacturing, quality, safety, human factors, logistics, and test engineering.
- Develop and maintain Task Performance Sheets (TPS), work packages, engineering task plans, schedules, and project documentation.
- Support procurement activities by developing technical specifications, evaluating supplier capabilities, coordinating material acquisitions, and tracking long-lead hardware.
- Coordinate engineering change implementation, configuration management, and hardware release activities.
- Support qualification, acceptance, integration, and environmental testing of IVA spacesuit systems and associated crew survival equipment.
- Participate in test planning, procedure development, test execution, troubleshooting, and post-test data reviews.
- Lead technical troubleshooting efforts during development, manufacturing, testing, and integration activities.
- Coordinate logistics activities including hardware tracking, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and flight hardware accountability.
- Support risk identification, issue resolution, and corrective action implementation.
- Prepare technical presentations and status reports for engineering leadership and customers.
- Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and integrated product team (IPT) meetings.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency and product quality.0

- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
- Experience supporting hardware development and engineering integration.
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, requirements management, and configuration management.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic development environment.
Requisition Preferences:

- Experience writing Task Performance Sheets (TPS), work instructions, engineering procedures, or test procedures.
