Job Title: Data Engineer III (Specialized)

Job Duties: The University of Phoenix, Inc. seeks a Data Engineer III (Specialized) in Phoenix, AZ to develop scalable cloud solutions to transform data into useful format for analysis, enhanced data flow and enablement of end users to consume data faster and easier.

Design, construct, and manage infrastructure and architecture for data generation, ensuring that data pipelines are efficient, scalable and reliable. Clean, process, and organize raw data for use in analytics, data science and machine learning. Extract, transform and load structured and unstructured data from a variety of data stores, such as data lakes, relational database management systems and/or data warehouses. Collaborate with Engineers, Data Analysts, Reporting Analysts, Data Scientists, Product Teams and other key stakeholders to translate business requirements to technical specifications and coded data pipelines for a range of difficult technical problems. Present and demonstrate data solutions to stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear insights to drive understanding and adoption. Develop complex SQL queries to support analytics needs and work with tools, languages, and frameworks like R, Python, SQL, and AWS technologies such as Glue, RDS, Redshift, and Athena. Manage, optimize and process big datasets and large databases. Serve as mentor to less experienced team members to enable them to enhance their data engineering skills. May telecommute from anywhere in the United States 5 days a week. Annual Salary: 128,024.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 1 year of AI/ML data engineering experience in:

Data analytics, algorithms, machine learning frameworks, and structured/unstructured data;

SQL and optimizing performance of SQL statements;

Building and managing datasets for AI use cases;

Cloud services, data engineering, and AI/ML lifecycle management;

Data transformation tools such as: Informatica, SSIS, SSAS, HVR, Airflow, GLUE;

SQL, Python, S3, Redshift, Tableau, Power B data analytics technologies;

Agile and scaled Agile work settings;

LLMs, RAGs, Bedrock, Llama3, OpenAI, or Gemini AI/ML models and systems; and

AI deployment in cloud systems.
