Full Job Description
As an IT Sr Manager of Compute at Micron, you will be responsible for owning the on-premise Corporate Windows, Unix and Virtual Infrastructure as well as leading the global Compute technology standards.

You will partner with the IT worldwide counterparts, architects, and program/project managers to build strategic and operational objectives, to ensure adherence to service and operational level agreements. You will serve as a conduit for demand and resource management, balancing people and budgets towards desired outcomes. You are responsible for business and regulatory compliance activities for the services worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day project oversight, execution, and operational leadership.
  • Deliver technology vision, strategy, and direction for supported services.
  • Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with Micron Business Units and ensure alignment.
  • Sustain strong global collaboration with internal and external Micron IT operations teams.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects to develop and carry out capability roadmaps.
  • Drive service improvements by reviewing contracts, vendor offerings, upgrades, quotes, and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Lead continuous improvement through policies and processes for monitoring, measurement, reporting, and improving service/component availability.
  • Lead all aspects of budget and cost centers, manage talent development (mentoring, coaching, succession planning, retention), and support


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of leadership experience leading on-premise Enterprise Hardware Compute teams.
  • Hands-on technical background across Unix, Windows, VMware, and enterprise hardware compute systems.
  • 10 years of experience building and leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels, with sophisticated knowledge of ITIL subject areas.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting AI/GPU or high-performance compute environments.
  • Strong vendor management experience, including ELAs and strategic supplier negotiations.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder leadership skills
  • Familiarity with automation, self-service, and event-driven infrastructure operations.
