Job Overview & Responsibilities

At ULA, the Scrum Master is responsible for enabling disciplined Agile delivery across IT, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams. This role ensures predictable execution by facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, strengthening cross-team coordination, and driving continuous improvement. The Scrum Master helps teams maintain clarity of priorities, transparent workflow management, and healthy communication patterns, ensuring alignment with IT operational and engineering objectives.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain disciplined execution of sprints, ensuring commitments, priorities, and dependencies are well-understood and tracked.
  • Remove impediments proactively and escalate issues when necessary while maintaining ownership until resolution.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners, technical leads, Cloud Ops, Systems, Security, and Application teams to ensure backlog clarity and delivery alignment.
  • Support cross-team coordination for work spanning cloud environments (AWS/Azure), infrastructure teams, and operational groups.
  • Track and report sprint metrics, velocity, delivery risks, and operational trends to provide visibility to leadership.
  • Promote continuous improvement, operational discipline, documentation consistency, and Agile maturity across teams.
  • Reinforce workload transparency, healthy team interactions, and effective communication between engineering, leadership, and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience supporting IT, cloud, infrastructure, or technical engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency facilitating Agile ceremonies and enabling structured team workflows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence without authority and maintain calm under pressure.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile facilitator, or equivalent role supporting technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of IT and cloud operational processes, including hybrid environments and engineering workflows.
  • Experience working with Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or comparable systems.
  • Ability to drive clarity, reduce noise, and maintain disciplined execution across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Proven capability to manage delivery risks, cross-team dependencies, and prioritization in complex environments.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with demonstrated effectiveness working across infrastructure, cloud, security, network, and application teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with consistent ownership, follow-through, and accountability.


Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denveronly): $131,834.00 - $219,724.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.

Additionally, most salaried ULA team members work a "9/80 schedule," meaning they enjoy every other Friday off.
