Summary

Duties

Help

  • You will oversee the security posture of IT systems to ensure compliance with security policies and requirements.
  • You will provide continuous monitoring of IT systems through scheduled audits to identify and escalate security issues.
  • You will evaluate implemented security controls to accurately manage vulnerability reporting and mitigation efforts.
  • You will analyze IT activities and operations to ensure appropriate security measures are enforced.
  • You will provide technical recommendations for risk and vulnerability assessments to enhance system security.
  • You will integrate advanced cybersecurity frameworks (Zero Trust, MDE/I) to modernize and enhance enterprise network defenses.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 752 and 801, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing the security posture of IT systems and guides operational teams to ensure strict compliance with DoD security policies. 2) Coordinating with counterparts to develop high-level risk assessments and advising senior management on enterprise security posture and risk levels. 3) Assisting in the leverage of advanced cybersecurity frameworks (such as Zero Trust and MDE/I) to modernize enterprise network defenses and build robust defensive strategies.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
